Programme Overview and Objective:
Due to 24x7 power generation from thermal plants, huge amount of ash is generated as a by-product of coal. The utilization of ash is strongly related to economy of its use which changes with time and unutilized ash is disposed-off in well designed, constructed and maintained Ash Dykes. For sustainable operation of ash dykes meeting stringent environmental regulations, ash dyke management has become very critical. There is a need to upgrade the skills of executives involved in ash dyke management to help them in maintaining the ash dyke systems efficiently.
