Budgeting is a validated approach to financial planning linked directly to organizational strategy. It requires establishing all activities that incur costs in each business function and then define the relationships between those activities. These information guide decisions on how much resource should be allocated to each activity. The budgeting exercise also covers the long-term plan for application of internal resources and debt servicing dovetailed into the Corporate Plan.
